Welcome to Messiah Lutheran Church
Easter, 2022
“Return to the Lord, your God,
for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger,
and abounding in steadfast love.”
—Joel 2:13
Messiah is a Christian community of over 1000 people who gather at our church and school in Fairview Park on the western side of Greater Cleveland. Like churches across the country, we’ve responded to this long pandemic by adjusting old habits and learning new ones. Many us are participating mostly online these days. Others are attending in-person again, especially now that vaccines are available. We thank God that they are. We encourage each other to make use of them. We look forward eagerly to the day when the blanket lifts completely and we can see our building filled with people drawn together in the praise and service of God.
Messiah remains active in many other ways. To explore this, we invite you to sign up for our weekly emails. Our key ministry is Messiah Lutheran School, offering a superb Christ-centered education for children from Preschool through Grade 8. To learn more, visit the school website.

Pandemic Precautions
COVID infections in our area have plunged dramatically since the start of 2022. Beginning on March 6, Messiah is relaxing almost all our special precautions for in-person gatherings over the past two years. Masks are optional at all services this Lent except for the special Family Service on March 27 (see above). Use your own judgment regarding social distancing, hand-shaking, etc. Respect others for the choice they make in these matters. If you have a fever or other symptoms of an illness, or if you’ve been exposed to COVID within the past few day, please stay home.
