Since its start in 1927, the Scholastic Art Competition has recognized exceptional creative achievement in 7th - 12th grade students. Messiah entered this competition for the first time this year.

Messiah students were featured recently on Cleveland's Fox8 News for their participation in the school's annual jump-a-thon. This annual fundraiser has raised over $27,500 over sixteen years for the American Heart Association.

Each year, our students in grades one through eight participate in achievement testing. Since the 2006-07 school year, we have been using the Terra Nova Achievement Test.

Elea Accreditation
the Evangelical Education Association (ELEA)
In June of 2008, Messiah Lutheran School was awarded a full, seven year accreditation from the Evangelical Education Association (ELEA). The school staff, administration, and a Steering Committee were involved with this process for almost two years, producing professional portfolios for full-time teachers and administrators, as well as an extensive self-study report that included everything from curriculum to governance to facility.

New Middle School Building 2008
Messiah's students began to use our new Middle School and Art/Science Lab.
In February, 2008, as a result of the Opening the Way building program, Messiah's students began to use our new Middle School and Art/Science Lab. The building contains one classroom for each middle school grade - 6th, 7th, and 8th - as well as an Art/Science Lab to be used by any class in the school.

MLS Tech Lab
This fall Messiah Lutheran School started the school year with a new technology lab. We acquired 30 new Lenovo laptops with wireless internet connection and a Lexmark network printer. The Laptops operate with Microsoft Windows XP and have Microsoft Office 2007.
